Kitchen Furniture? Me and my beautiful wife are scouting for some good looking kitchen furniture that would go great with our white marble countertops. I don't want to spend much too much, thats why I'm looking online to find some better deals. Can anybody provide me with a good selection of kitchen furniture?
What is the best brand wood stain to use on solid oak kitchen cabinets? The most furniture quality finish? I am putting new doors on solid oak frame kitchen cabinets. The new doors are unfinished solid oak.The frames and sides are about 10 years old, and have been stained once. The current color is a miniwax provincial.I am sanding the frame and preparing it for the new doors. The miniwax cherry stain I have tried so far doesn't give me the color and depth I am looking for. What is the best brand of stain to give a rich furniture grade color and smoothness on the cabinets and where can I buy it?Cost really doesn't matter.I just want a great rich looking finish in a medium cherry tone when finished.
What color furniture would look best for a kitchen table? I heard you can mix 3 colors of wood in a room-is this correct? Our floor is light maple hardwood, our walls are creme, we have a dark navy couch, and a brown colored coffee table. In this same living room/kitchen, we need to buy a kitchen table. What color wood should we stick with for this piece? Oh, and our entertainment center is a light maple too.
What is this ? Antique kitchen furniture ? Picture here; http://carinas.250free.com/Other/143.JPG Three pieces counting table top; top is white & black trimmed porceline metal & it pulls out some, has sifter, bread box & far right drawer is metal. 1392 white is stamped on the back of the bottom piece. I really want to know what it is called, when it was made, & if posable who made it.
What color would look good on a kitchen wall? The kitchen has white furniture, and white flooring...what color would make the kitchen have a more contemporary look? I was thinking of red...do you think it will work? And does anyone have any pictures of their red kitchen?
How do I get rid of these tiny ants in my kitchen?.? They are hardly visible unless they are in a large groupo. They are black and have the size of a small flea. Too hard to follow them. (my kitchen table is black granite) Raid or any other ant-killer work only for short time and then they are back. I want some NATURAL treatment/solution I can use. I have kids that will touch the kitchen tables and furniture. I am afraid cloves dont work. I have tried it. As of taking of every thing they like to eat, I would have to empty my kitchen and pantry!. they even bite/break sugar bags and get inside. You open a pack of sugar and you find several of them in there. The package was perfect from the supermarket but they got into it. They even got inside the honey bottle which was hermetically closed. I dont know how they managed to get inside there.
Someone stole a loaf of bread+ furniture from my kitchen at night?? I went downstairs in the middle of the night as i had heard something making loads of noise (must have been a VERY clumsy burglar). As soon as i got into the kitchen i was hit around the head with a loaf of bread- which the burglar then ran off with! I then found a note saying that someone had stolen back their loaf of bread that i had stolen from them...... I then went outside and my patio furniture was gone!? What sort of loony would rid me of my bread and garden furniture??
How long do you have to wait after polyurethaning hardwood floors before you put furniture on them? We have done the first coat of fast-drying poly on newly stained hardwood floors. The can says this stuff should dry in 3-4 hrs. We're on hour 8 and it's still tacky. Temp is at 72 deg and fans are blowing. Anyway, we still have to do another coat, and wait for that to dry. We thought we'd be good to go by this evening, but the can says you then have to wait another 72 hours before putting furniture on it! we started this whole process 3 days ago. Since we have all our furniture in the kitchen and living room, and have a 5 yr old and 3 yr old, this is chaos! Do we really have to wait 72 hours or is this an overcautious just-in-case-we-get-sued manufacturers direction? Thanks for the recommendation to be patient. We realize that we're in for the long haul. To the person who seems to think that they are the only one with a brain: 1) My kids have nothing to do with you. A goofed up DIY process has nothing to fo with good parenting skills. And yes, they were elsewhere. Sheesh. It is precisely because I need to get them back in their own rooms that I'm asking this question. 2) Like I SAID, we bought the super-fast drying poly and asked the guy at the store to explain the process to us. He only mentioned the 3-4 hr drying time, nothing about 72 hrs. We read the tiny print on the can as much as we could, and trusted him for the rest. It was only in double-checking before we applied the first coat, that we realized the 72 hrs was required. 3) We're using safety equipment. 4) Why would you feel the need to attack us from a simple DIY goof-up question? Don't try to figure out our lives from one short, simple question - JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!!!
Small People Furniture? I recently adopted a "little Person" at full grown she will be around 3 feet. do you know if there is a website that specializes in dwarf furniture, kitchen cabinets, and other things. How can I improve on a kitchen with white cabinets? I'm moving into my first home (I had been taking care of my mother in her house for many years). So finally I'm buying my first house. I'm very excited but not so much in love with the kitchen cabinets and can in no way remodel the kitchen for at least 3 or 4 years at the earliest. Here's a virtual view of the model home: http://www.divosta.com/homefinder/model_virtual_tour.asp?ip=1&commOrg_acctCode=3120&plan_acctCode=45902 My house is the no frills version so it pales in comparison to the model but it looks like the cabinets are the same. All of my kitchen and dining room furniture is medium oak and I do love its quality and durability. I hate the whole kitschy looking farmhouse white and oak thing that was popular in the 90s. It was fun back then but I don't want it now. What can I do? I was hoping to put crown moulding over the cabinets but I see that the cabinets on the outside wall go right to the ceiling. Any ideas on how to tackle this on a budget?
Is there a way to keep your home in style without having to buy furniture so often? The trends always change. I've painted and accessorised every single room, but I can't help noticing the furniture is out of date by a mile. I have dark hardwood floors, same in the kitchen. I tend to buy new furniture every year or so, so the house doesn't look posh. It's getting annoying how the style changes each month. I just can't keep my house guest-ready for Christmas. Any tips, ideas or advice? Thanks!
Is IKEA furniture expensive or affordable to most people? IKEA is said to be an international home products retailer that sells low-price products, including furniture, accessories, bathrooms and kitchens at retail stores around the world. However, for some people the price is quite expensive. What do you think?
Decorating/painting websites? need to match paint to furniture? Does anyone know of any paint selector websites or home decorating websites where you can indicate the color furniture (especially kitchen cabinets) that you have and they'll either select colors that will go or you can try different wall colors. I am trying to find wall colors that will go with my kitchen cabinets.
What color walls and furniture for blue countertops? Our countertops in the kitchen turned out to be a lot more blue than we had anticipated (The sample chip looked to be mostly grey with blue and khaki accents). We have a very open floor plan, and there are no divisions between the kitchen, breakfeast nook, and family room. We don't yet have furniture for our family room, and now we're unsure what color we should get, and what color to paint the family room. Anybody have some advice? I'd prefer to have neutral color furniture, but I don't want everything to be neutral and end up looking bland.
Should all furniture have the same rights as kitchen tables? Thanks for answers. Live a bit, laugh a bit, love a bit. Thank Buddha there are a few people with "absurdist" senses of humor. Sometimes it seems the only way to make any sense of the planet is to think irrationally for a bit. Besides, it's a GREAT exercise in creativity. The problem with having a colorful imagination is that you have to control it or you end up like certain people who think they've been abducted by aliens. Talk about living in hell. Don't tell anybody ... bu they were ten feet tall and had horrible cases of halitosis. And the probes! Let's not go there. Thanks for typing. I wish I could edit that typo in the previous paragraph. And that one... two mistakes I can't change... and I thought change was supposed to be good!
Do light oak trim and furniture in navy and white go together? My living room and kitchen area are almost one large, great room space. I have light oak cabinets, trim on the windows, and kitchen dining floor. I would like to purchase new furniture in the navy and white combination uplostery. Will this work? One salesperson said that I shouldn't do it, but go for the warm tones.
What are some ideas for furniture in a long room? Our living room is long and rectangle shaped, with a picture window on one of the long ends and an opening to the kitchen directly across from the window. We are trying to pick out furniture for the whole room (couch, chair, etc). we have a big screen tv that takes up most of one of the shorter walls. Any ideas or links for ideas are appreciated!
What should we do with a wall between kitchen and livingroom? We have a wall between our kitchen and livingroom (with a door on the side of course. We are considering cutting a large space out of it and fitting it with a bar to have a breakfast bar situation, plus it will be nice to be able to see into either room from the other. But I was standing looking and wondering if we should just go all the way and knock out the whole wall, which would make for one big kitchen/living area. Our two rooms are neither one very large. Can anyone speak from experience on doing such a change? I fear too if we do the breakfast bar thing we'll be limiting our wall space as far places to put furniture...of course if there is no wall there, then we're really messing ourselves up.
How do I get furniture polish off of ceramic tile? Our kitchen floor is ceramic tile. My husband wanted to spray Lysol but accidentally grabbed Pledge furniture polish instead and sprayed that. Ever since then the floor is super slippery. I've mopped and mopped and mopped but it's still slippery. How can I get the furniture polish off the tile?
Mixing old furniture in a new modern house? We are building a new house and have some old-style timber furniture that I love and would like to get more, but at the same time I want to keep the house looking modern (it has modern kitchen, bathrooms etc). Does anyone have any advice on mixing the two without looking odd?
How can I get my puppy to to go to the kitchen when I have to leave for work? My puppy knows when it's a work day. As I am getting ready for work he is playful and listens. As soon as he sees me put on my suit he runs and hides under the couch or under the bed or wherever he can. It's only when I get ready for work though. If it's the weekend and I'm going out and put on a pair or jeans he doesn't run or hide. It doesn't matter which suit I put on either it's the same thing. So I spend time chasing him around the house to try and catch him. moving furniture sometimes.... just so I can put him in the kitchen 4 when I go 2 work as he is not potty trained yet. I even come home to check on him during breaks. So why is my dog doing this? How can I get him to go to the kitchen when it's time 4 me to go 2 wk? I have tired treats and toys non of which worked. Any ideas? It's driving me crazy!

Which color Faux wood blinds to choose for kitchen+Family room ? Hi, I Have a large kitchen +family roomand the kitchen has cherry cabinets. The kitchen has stainless steel+black appliances There is also a huge window in the family room. My question is 1)Should the color of blinds for the kitchen window and family room window be same since they all are in the same continuous space? 2)Would white or cherry look better in the kitchen? If cherry is fine, then does it need to match exactly with the cabinet cherry stain? The walls are painted Benjamin Moore Bone Ivory color. 2)In the family room, would cherry color faux wood blinds look better or white ?The walls are painted a neutral color(Benjamin moore Bone White).I plan to have mostly black leather furniture in the family room and the accessories would be red+orange and yellow.Would white look too contrasting for this space? I am moving to an apartment that has one vivid red wall in the living room. What color furniture works best? The accented vivid red wall has white crown molding and the other walls are a parisian taupe color. The floor and verticals are a light hard wood while the kitchen is black with brushed stainless steel. Since there is red, white, taupe and black colors, I have no idea what color furniture would look best. I don't want any white furniture as our pets would dirty it quickly. I am looking for a color for the furniture that is contemporary and would work best with all the colors in the apartment. Any advice you could provide will be greatly appreciated.
What kitchen themes and/or colors should I use? I'm trying to get ideas for my kitchen decor/theme. I think my colors are quite odd....I have laminate grayish countertops with white cabinets. The tile floor is marble-like with the same gray color of the counters and white and a little cream. All of my appliances are white also. The walls currently are a light pale yellow, which I think clashes with the counters; however I'm not sure what color to repaint the kitchen considering the kitchen and living room are separated only by a bar counter. The living room is painted that same light pale yellow. (Living room furniture=tan and cherrywood furniture). I don't want to replace the countertops right now. I'm open to all suggestions...except country themes.

Older ppl. and furniture for the disabled ? I was just super confused as to why it seems like "mission impossible" for my hubby's family to get his mother (she suffers from severe arthritis) furniture and kitchen equipment that would ease the difficulties she faces everyday. I told him to get a Lazy-boy type recliner that is super comfortable and could help her stand w/ ease when leaving a seated position and he told me his brothers would probably just sit in it. Is it because his family is probably dysfunctional (he admits that and says the majority of other poor egyptians are as well), don't care enough or just don't know? He also said it would be difficult to get that type of furniture (shower stools, disabled recliners, arthritic -friendly kitchen equipment, etc., etc...)It's sad. She just sits on the hard, concrete floor and gets up every morning @4:30 to start her long, day. She doesn't want help around the house either even though my spouse could get her a maid if she'd only accept. furniture store recommendation?
Buying our first house, have no furniture - bad credit - should we rent to own furniture? I've just moved to the US with my husband and we're about to purchase our first home in Missouri, right now we're living in a hotel and have no furniture as we sold everything and just moved with basically our suitcases. We have absolutely no furniture (excpet kitchen items... plates and a few appliances) My husbands credit is bad due to a nasty ex wife and I have no credit because i'm a new resident. Should we look at rent to own furniture? or is there an easier way to furnish our home without credit?
Budget of Furniture in Pune? Hi, I am purchasing a new flat in Pune and would like to know whats the average budget of furniture for a 3BHK. Since its a new flat, it needs everything - furniture+appliances+modular kitchen+safety grills etc. I know the cost of these things vary depending on many factors such as quality, make, brand and vendor etc, but still would like to know whats the ballpark number I am looking at. Any experienced guidelines in this area would be greatly appreciated (like a better brand/furniturewala etc). Thanks!

Hi, I need help with my kitchen colour scheme? Can anyone help me? We have a large, modern boxy kitchen with Ikea beech cupboards and chrome handles. All our appliances are chrome. We have real terracotta floor tiles in an orangey tone and pale peachy mottled rustic wall tiles. I have a golden oak rustic farm table and a shaker coloured welsh dresser in the kitchen. I collect blue Polish pottery with a few dark terracotta bits and cream on them, on display in the dresser. I am trying to find a wall colour and roman blinds/or other window treatment that will coordinate the traditional furniture and the modern kitchen units and chrome. We also have white wooden venetian blinds in the 3 windows, as we are overlooked, but I want to add some fabric around them. All the lines from the tiles on the wall, floor and blinds mean the kitchen is already very busy visually. I can't really add more lines with stripey fabric on the windows, but I do feel the room looks too soul-less right now. Can anyone help keep the warmth and blue?
