Kitchen cabinet? I am planning to change my kitchen cabinet. Do I do it on top of the floor or before I do the flooring???

New kitchen cabinet pulls are too loose how can I tighten them up? I bought new pulls for my old kitchen cabinet doors. The machine screws don't screw in all the way into the new pulls, because the cabinet doors are not thick enough. Can I put washers behind the pulls and again behind the back of the cabinet door to tighten up the loose pulls and make up for the thin cabinet door? I need to make up about 1/8 of an inch difference. Thanks from a damsel in distress.

What are these kitchen cabinet upgrades called? What is the technical term for the cabinet additions that go on either side of upper kitchen cabinets that are at a 45 degree angle? Like instead of the cabinets ending bluntly in a 90 degree angle from the side of the cabinet it tapers to the wall at a 45 degree angle and gives a little extra cabinet space for spices or other small stuff. There would be one extra thin cabinet door and triangular shelves. Know what I mean? What is this called so I can look them up. How to remove foul odor from kitchen cabinet? I purchased a 12 year old home with custom pine kitchen cabinets in which one set has an unpleasant odor. The surrounding cabinets aren't as bad. I was told the foul odor in the cabinets was due to the home being closed up and there was no central air. I installed central air, leave the cabinet doors open cleaned the cabinets with bleach and set baking soda on the shelves. Still, two months later, the smell remains.

Where is the best place to mount kitchen cabinet hardware on a horizontal drawer? I'm looking to add kitchen cabinet hardware/handles to horizontal drawers and I've seen them placed in various positions. I've seen them most frequently dead center and above center (for lower drawers). I'm guessing dead center is the way to go but I'm curious if anyone else has a different take. Thanks!

What is the best way to repair the inside of my kitchen cabinet? I have two kitchen cabinets. One is under the counter top and the other under the sink. Both have floors made of some type of wood that has gone bad over the years, it was there when I moved in. They look like they got wet and feel damp sometimes. The parts that are dry feel velvety and when I use my duster I can brush some of it off. I don't know what this kind of damage is called. I just want to repair it and changing all the cabinets would not be worth it. We rent and we will be moving soon. We want to repair them in a way that can isolate the whole cabinet under the sink and counter top as if we had installed new cabinets. I hope I have been clear, not sure how to explain it better. How do you remove a newspaper-ad stain from a kitchen cabinet? I had one of those ads that come tucked inside a newspaper in my kitchen cabinet; unfortunately, it apparently became wet and went I went to clean it out today, it stuck to the cabinet (briefly) and left an unsightly newspaper-ad stain. What is the best glue & technique for repairing a crack in a wood kitchen cabinet door? I have a wood (maple) kitchen cabinet door that has developed a crack that is about to split the door lengthwise if I don't do something soon. I want to glue it but I want to use the best glue for that so the door stays together and doesn't make it look messy. If I am unable to repair this crack I am afraid I will have to replace all my kitchen doors (about 20) to make sure they match. I don't want to do that since we are going to move in a year or two.

how do i remove the back panel of a kitchen cabinet without taking the entire cabinet apart? i need access to a socket that the guy i bought my house off has (anoyingly!) concealed behind a kitchen cabinet. I dont want to take the entire cabinet apart. The socket powers the intergrated appliances and im replacing my dishwasher. Why does my kitchen cabinet beneath the sink smell? The cabinet beneath my kitchen sink and disposal smells like rotting food, but I can't pinpoint the source of the smell. Oddly, the disposal itself does NOT smell -- I stick my nose down the drain and it smells OK. But if I open the cabinet doors and kneel down, the smell of rotting food is strong... but I've cleaned everything out of the cabinet. I have put ice cubes, lots of citrus peel and baking soda down the disposal to clear any smell, but again, the source appears beneath the sink and not the disposal from the top side. (House is 10 years old; disposal is 3 years old.) There are no visible leaks beneath the cabinet. Two hints:1) While the disposal from the top doesn't smell; the pipe beneath the sink does; and 2) the smell is strongest when I run the dishwasher, but it comes and goes all the time. Any thoughts on what could be causing the smell or ideas to fix?

Any advice for getting a snake out from under a kitchen cabinet? A king snake got loose in my house and im pretty sure hes chillin under the kitchen or bathroom cabinet. Unfortunately the area is unaccessable ,and the hole he would of gone in is at an angle i cant see in. Any advice for coaxing a snake out?

How do you remove rust from chromed kitchen cabinet hinges? We have older kitchen cabinets in our rental home and the hinges are rusty in places. how do i change a lightbulb under an ikea kitchen cabinet? I have an ikea light fitting under one of my kitchen cabinets. The low voltage bulb has gone but i can't figure how to get it out of the fitting to change it. It won't twist or push in and there's no gap between the bulb and the fitting ot prise it out. Need help with replacing cabinet pulls in kitchen!? My kitchen cabinet pulls are very outdated. I tried painting them silver to update them but they just stick out like sore thumbs now. Then I tried to buy replacements but can't find any with holes that match the existing holes. I started to drill new holes but they're so close to old holes, it's precarious to say the least. Does anybody have a suggestion short of filling some of the holes and having to paint the cabinets. They're stained medium/dark and I'd like them to stay that way!

What is the best way to cut a kitchen cabinet? We are replacing drop in range with free standing and have to remove the cabinet box below. It is too tight for a jigsaw or circular saw. Will a sawzall cut it smooth enough? Will we be able to do it ourselves or should we have a cabinet maker do it??? I need to cut out the box (which was under the range) but the plywood runs all thru the entire bottom of that wall of cabinets..so I need to use a saw that can cut right up against the wall of the cabinets, to get it out. Then cut about 1 inch off the formica countertop and the new range will fit. I just dont know what is the best tool to use.

Has anyone SUCCESSFULLY gotten rid of the smell of rotten potatoes from a kitchen cabinet? I had a bag of rotten potatoes leak onto my shelf-paper lined cabinet. I changed the shelf paper, but the cabinet itself absorbed the smell, along with all the plasticware I store there. Help! I have a lower kitchen cabinet w/an inset shelf that I want 2 remove. Is the shelf a support 2 the unit? This is a below-counter cabinet. The single shelf is non-adjustable as it has been recessed into grooves on either side of the inside cabinet walls. I was going to cut it out in order to remove it but someone suggested it might be a support to the overall cabinet itself. Does anyone know anything about this? Will my cabinet fall apart if I cut out the shelf?

It has just 2 Cabinet Brackets at the back, at the top.
