Paint suggestions to paint kitchen cabinets white? Hi, I am planning on painting my kitchen cabinets white, but am unsure of what color white I should use. I hope to paint the walls a neutral off-white color also, but with sections under my chair-rail in the adjacent dining area and the soffet over my cabinets in sage. The trim will be bright white and I hope to eventually install an oak floor, tropical brown granite countertops, and I will be updating the cabinet hardware with satin nickel. The appliances will be a combo of black and stainless. Appreciate any cabinet and neutral wall color suggestions that work with this. Thanks! Thanks for the suggestions! I have thought about using Behr's Swiss Coffee on the cabinets for a color, but then I am not sure what to use on parts of the walls that will not be sage. For the person that asked about the curtains etc.. in the room, I am waiting to pick out all the accents and accessories until I have completed the bones of the room. Also, the cabinets are currently an off white or beige. In fact, the whole room is a beige, It's not a nice beige- more like a dirty cream color (cabinets, walls, trim, and ceilings). I think the cabinets are original (1956), but overall they are in good shape. I would love to buy new cabinets too (in a stained spice color), but expense wise, I'm thinking the re-finishing white is the way to go. I've seen some beautiful kitchen with the wite cabinets, wood floors, and granite counters.

How do I paint my kitchen cabinets and add a wood grain finish to them? I want to paint my kitchen cabinets a dark cherry oak with a faux wood grain. I have heard that I need to buy 3 colors - 1) a darker color for the base, 2) a middle color for the wood grain, and 3) a light color for the finish. Do I paint the cabinet the base color, then use the wood graining tool to paint the middle color, and then finally finish it with the lightest color.
What paint do I use to paint kitchen cabinets black, but not shiny black? I want to paint my kitchen cabinets black (they are ugly 70s dark stain), but I do not want shiny black. I have looked at milk paint, but I am concerned that it will not work well because of the existing finish. I know most painters recommend oil-based enamel because it cleans easily, but that is not the finish I am looking for. Any suggestions for painting the cabinets and obtaining a matte finish that will still hold up to the wear and tear of a kitchen? Thanks
How to paint kitchen cabinets white? I recently sanded and stained all my kitchen cabinets, they are solid oak. Then the realtor said they are too darm (cherrywood color) and I should paint them white. White kitchens are the in thing i guess. Hire someone to paint kitchen cabinets? I would like to hire someone in the CT area to do a high-quality paint job on my kitchen cabinets, which are oak with some sort of varnish on them. What color should I paint my kitchen cabinets? I am getting unfinished cabinets so that I can paint them. My kitchen is a blank slate, I just don't know what to do! I have hardwood floors, lots of windows. I don't even know what color to paint my walls. I would like to have some color in my cabinets, I want them to be fun, but elegant. We live in the country in SC and my house is a little cottage (picket fence and all) Colors I already have in my kitchen are: my china is pink, my Kitchenaid is a pale yellow, my hoosier cabinet has some green in it. I really am a country type person, so modern looks like "black and white" won't work! I would like to use several colors if possible, and I will be doing some distressing. Let me know what you think, if you have interesting cabinets I would love to see pictures!
Best way to paint kitchen cabinets will layers of paint? I am getting ready to paint my kitchen cabinets. They are original in the house built 1952. Can you spray/brush lacquer paint onto varnished kitchen cabinet doors? I scrubed down the doors with a TSP solution and fine grit foam sandind blocks. I then rinsed them, wiped them down and allowed them time to air-dry. They are now visible dull but sqeaky clean and smooth to the touch. Are they ready for a primer/paint 2-step procedure? -(Originally clear varnish over stained oak rails and styles with solid luan panels.)
What is the best paint to use for kitchen cabinets? I really want to paint my kitchen cabinets, but I want somthing that is going to last and that is going to be easy to clean. I want to be able to just wipe away any grease or dirt that may get on them. What is the best type of paint to use?
Should I paint or refinish my kitchen cabinets? My kitchen is very small and "L" shaped. Right now I have the walls painted a sage green color, which I want to keep. My cabinets are plain with no wood designs or anything, and they're stained a very dark, walnut type of color. My floor is vinyl floor tiles in a light beige white marble kind of pattern. My appliances are bisque color. I'm wondering if I should paint my cabinets a cream color, or antique white color or if I should refinish and stain them a lighter wood color - like light oak. I'd rather restain, but I'm also wondering how long it would take to sand down to the natural wood color. Any help would be appreciated because I can't make up my mind.

One of the walls is a "Focal" wall and it is medium brown. The floors are hard wood, mohogany. The countertop is a granite, dark green/black in color.
