Kitchen Cabinet Pulls Knowledge Base

New kitchen cabinet pulls are too loose how can I tighten them up? I bought new pulls for my old kitchen cabinet doors. The machine screws don't screw in all the way into the new pulls, because the cabinet doors are not thick enough. Can I put washers behind the pulls and again behind the back of the cabinet door to tighten up the loose pulls and make up for the thin cabinet door? I need to make up about 1/8 of an inch difference. Thanks from a damsel in distress.
Need help with replacing cabinet pulls in kitchen!? My kitchen cabinet pulls are very outdated. I tried painting them silver to update them but they just stick out like sore thumbs now. Then I tried to buy replacements but can't find any with holes that match the existing holes. I started to drill new holes but they're so close to old holes, it's precarious to say the least. Does anybody have a suggestion short of filling some of the holes and having to paint the cabinets. They're stained medium/dark and I'd like them to stay that way!
Is there a durable paint that can be used to change gold tone kitchen cabinet knobs and pulls to silver tone? Replacing the knobs and pulls would be too expensive. There are 39 and each one has a backplate.
We need to strip paint from very old cabinet pulls, but do not want to damage the pulls...? We recently purchased our home, and really want to keep the original Kitchen cabinet door pulls/handles. They are coated with several coats of paint, and we want to strip the paint, but are afraid of damaging the plastic material they are made from. What can we use to strip the paint, that will not damage the plastic ??? They are very old, probably 50-60 yrs old....Thanks !!!
This is designer question. I want to use the "new" stainless steel cylinder cabinet pulls? on my kitchen cabinets for a European look. My cabinets doors are a simple slab in a light colored maple, miscellaneaous heights but predominately 27 inches. How long can my handles be. And can they be micellaneous heights for the different cabinet heigths? Although I don't have that many cabinets, I have gone for the heavy "pro" look with my range and fridge. So I think I can pull off the look I want on the cabinets by the long stainless handles. Your opinion is appreciated.
Where can you purchase kitchen cabinet hardware at discount? Does anyone know where to buy cabinet pulls, knobs and hinges at a reduced cost on the net? I have not found any place including Ebay where they are less than the retail stores after factoring in shipping. I am looking for Liberty brand products in particular.
What does "center to center" mean for cabinet pulls? I want to replace cabinet pulls on our kitchen drawers. What exactly does "center to center" measure? Is it the distance between the center of the drill holes? I am ordering them online, so I just want to be sure before placing the order. Thanks!
How do I stop kitchen cabinet handles from spinning? I screw them tight and they just spin after a little use Maybe there is a special washer or something? These are the single knob cabinet pulls.
Replacing Knobs & pulls for kitchen cabinets? I would like to replace the knobs & drawer pulls in my kitchen. I don't really want to pay alot, because we would like to sell this house next year. I just want to make the kitchen a bit nicer. Any ideas where to go to find inexpensive knobs & pulls? Thanks
Where can I buy something decorative to fill the hole left by old cabinet door pulls? My kitchen cabinet doors have the knob right in the middle. They are very awkward to use so we just never use them. I would like to replace them with something decorative as opposed to leaving a hole there. I don't know where to buy such an item. (Not interested in wooden plugs - I was thinking something very noticable to coordinate with my kitchen).
Kitchen cabinets are pulling away from the wall? My kitchen cabinets are starting to pull away from the wall slightly and I'm wondering how I should fix it. Now, the cabinets are fastened to the wall in the back and it's my far left corner cabinet that is pulling away from the side wall that's the issue. There is a 1.5" gap between the side wall and my cabinet, but the front face of the cabinet extends to the wall and it's 3/4" thick. It's this front portion that has a slight gap between itself and the wall. It used to be flat against the wall and in fact the top still is, it's the bottom portion that has a gap. How can I fix this?
Is there a way to make circa 1980s brass kitchen cabinet hinges appear more silver than brass? I am refinishing my kitchen cabinets and would like to keep the hinges if possible, but I'd like for them to match the new silver knobs and pulls I will be installing. So I was wondering can I scratch the brass plating or apply a chemical to make them loose their brassy look and take on more of a silver sheen...even if its not shiny. They are only hinges after all.
Kitchen CABINET problem? I bought all new hardware (knobs and pulls) for my kitchen cabinets. After taking the old hardware off, I noticed that it has left marks (a bit of an indentation and a slightly lighter color of wood where the hardware covered). Is there anything I can do rather than sanding and re-staining all of my cabinets? Many thanks! I'm pretty sure they're oak cabinets. Thanks for all of the great suggestions!!
Kitchen cabinets pulling away from wall? When my husband put up our upper kitchen cabinets there was more than an inch difference from the wall and the cabinets due to the wall not being square. He put long 1x1 inch pieces of wood he cut from 2x4s along where each of the studs would be and screwed those pieces of wood into the stud, then when he put up the cabinets he screwed the cabinets into the pieces of wood. I now see that one of the end cabinets is pulling away at the top and coming out of the wall a bit. Any ideas or should this have been done a different way.
Can I use magnets to open kitchen cabinets instead of adding knobs or pulls? My cabinets are new and my fingers are feeling the pull, They are so pretty I don't want to drill holes for knobs. Are there any other solutions? Thanks
My friend remodeled her kitchen recently; and instead of replacing her cabinet pulls/knobs, she spray painted? them with just a regular can of spray paint from a local arts and crafts store. Since she just did this, I wonder how long the spray paint will last -- all that opening and closing -- is there a better kind of paint somewhere out there on the market that is guaranteed to last for that kind of wear and tear? Also, I am interested in finding a paint brand that has custom colors, as I am hoping to create a dark green "granite-like" appearance (to match our countertops where are green "Uba Tuba"). Any ideas about either the paint product or method to use are most welcome. Thanks, in advance! my_alias_id Your project sounds like you were very thorough -- I am impressed. You might have misunderstood about the "granite" look -- I plan on only spray painting the door KNOBS a green granite color. My cabinets are white and will remain untouched. Thanks!
I am trying to find a photo of an Boone Kitchen Cabinet Hoosier antique? It is oak and instead of the one roll up door and it has two doors on front of top piece that roll out and around each side of cabinet and three doors above the roll out doors. the bottom half of hoosier has one roll out door on left side and a drawer with a door below. has the white enamel counter which sides out and a wood cutting board that also pulls out .
Is there a design rule on using knobs vs. pulls on cabinets? Doing a full kitchen remodel with all new cabinets. Having a difficult time choosing the hardware. When should you use the round knobs and when should you use the longer handle type drawer pulls on kitchen cabinets? Should they always be combined together in the kitchen?
How do I make cabinet handles? I can't find cool cabinet handles and I was wondering how hard it would be to make them out of baking clay or some such material. Or if someone knows where I can buy skull pulls for my kitchen cabinets that would rock too.
Any way to add cabinet door knobs to cabinets with no holes drilled without going to that expense? I have kitchen cabinets with no door pulls that are hard to open but don't really want the expense of drilling holes in every cabinet face and installing knobs. Are there any products out there that allow you to do this -- like magentic knobs or pulls?
Paint drawer & cabinet pulls? I would like to paint over the white enamel drawer and cabinet pulls in our kitchen. Do I need to prime them over the existing white enamel or just use a good spray can paint. I will be changing the color to a dark brown
What color should we paint/stain our kitchen cabinets? Our walls are red with a really cool glaze on them and white trim. Doors are also white. We have gray counter tops (for now, don't have the $$ to replace currently) and stainless/black appliances and a wood table stained black. The cabinets are an "ash" wood color right now (FAKE wood though) I think they need to be a different color, but what color? We would do stainless pulls of course, oh and we have a really cool stainless light fixture and white curtains with a little red detail.
installing hardwood floors in kitchen? was wanting to put hardwood in kitchen, however, should I pull base cabinets out before and go under them, my concern is just going up to the dishwasher and than not ever being able to get it out if it needs replaced, however if I pull the dishwasher out and put wood under it, it wont fit between counter and floor? anyone ever ran into this before? or would it just be best to pull counter and cabinets and do it all?
What color wood flooring should I choose if my kitchen cabinets are a medium brown with a darker grain? We aren't sure if our flooring should match the cabinets or be the color of the dark grain. Our furniture is dark so I want to pull it all together if possible. Also the grain in our cabinets is pretty busy so should we do a calmer grain pattern in the floor? Thanks!
What color cabinet hardware would look good with these cabinet colors? We are painting our upper kitchen cabinets a cream color and our lower cabinets black. All of our hardware on doors and drawers are 3" pulls. We got a great deal on flat black hinges, so we bought enough for the whole kitchen. With the hinges unifying the cabinets, could we get away with using cream colored pulls on the black cabinets and black pulls on the cream colored cabinets? If you think we should use the same color hardware on both sets of cabinets, what color could we use that goes with cream and black paint and black hinges? Thanks for your help! I should have said too that we are going for a traditional look rather than a contemporary one. How would aged bronze pulls look with these colors?
Installing Our Own Kitchen Cabinets (?) Please? We're thinking about buying the oak stained cabinets from Lowe's. I've just one question though, that is, I'd like to have a cabinet with 2 large pull out pot and pan drawers. This is a cabinet that would probably be custom made from Lowe's but we can't afford to have one built. We need to use stock cabinets. Is there a way and hardware that we could use on one of the base cabinets from Lowe's and design this feature ourselves? Thanks and I hope somebody has already did this for their kitchen.
Where can I find 3 1/2" cabinet hardware (pulls)? I'm updating my kitchen and replacing my cabinet hardware in the process. I can find plenty of 3" and 4" pulls, but hardly any 3 1/2" pulls. I have found some for $10-$12 each, but since I need 46 of them, I need to find them at about half that price (or less). I'd really like a polished nickel finish, but at this point I'm open to anything.
Simple Kitchen Backsplash Ideas: Suggestions to Update kitchen? Just moved into a 1983 rambler. The kitchen has oak cabinets (not my favorite) beige counters, beige tile backsplash and beige tile floor. The small area above the cabinets is white and so is the ceiling. Any ideas for updating until I can replace the counters and backspash? I've already repaced the really bad 1980's pulls on the cabinets. I prefer a more midcentury modern style. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
Where can I find a cocktail shaker with a screw top? I have trouble getting the top off of a regular metal cocktail shaker, especially if there's too much ice in the shaker. I recently pulled mine out of the kitchen cabinet, and it's permanently stuck together.
Painting Kitchen Cabinets? I have those mobile home "wooden" cabinets. We have pulled off the gold trim used and I am going to be replacing the hinges and knobs, however what I need help with is finding the best way to paint over them. I want to paint them white and am not sure how to go about it since they aren't painted and aren't exactly wood.....Please help! Going to Lowe's this weekend.
Can you help me find a dinner plate rack that can hold at least 8 plates? The plates are stored flat, not standing up. The one I saw on a TV commercial (don't know who sells it) had a guy pulling it out of a kitchen cabinet and taking it to the table. I don't want a tall tiered rack. This would be a rack to put in a cabinet or leave on the counter or table. I think it was made of black iron. Thanks for your help.
i have same leak under kitchen sink but not in cabinet, pulled out dishwasher no leaks? Leak occurs under the cabinet when the drain cycle finishes, any suggestions??? it smells like drain pipe water...
What colors would be best for my kitchen? We have medium dark wood cabinets, and faux dark-blue marble countertops. Also have all black appliances - stove, fridge, micro. So we are getting the kitchen repainted and getting new flooring, what colors would mesh well w/the appliances, counters & cabinets? If I wanted it to pull it all together and make it look professional & contemporary. Looking for wall color & vinyl flooring color/style. Thanks for any suggestions!
Single hole cabinet hardware to double-hole question? We are changing out single-hole pulls on our kitchen cabinets to handles that are 2-hole installation. On the cabinet doors, can we use the existing hole as the bottom hole of our handle or do we need to fill, re-measure and drill both holes?
Paint Colors for Kitchen walls and cabinets? The floor is black and white checkerboard. I love the floor! My cabinets are medium oak slab and I have stainless bar pulls I want to use, but I can't decide what color to use on the cabinet doors/boxes. I need a color or two-color scheme for the cabinets. All walls and backsplash are currently hen's egg white that is warmer color than the white of the floor. I'm willing to start over with the regard to the neutral wall color. The trim in the room is natural medium oak and the room has beams at the ceiling so it's a little rustic. I like the beams and woodwork the way they are, so I won't be painting any of that. The style of my kitchen is purely contemporary, not modern and not country, just functional. My appliances are black and my furnishings are espresso or red tinged deep brown some call it deep chocolate. Suggestions for color schemes for cabinets/boxes? My kitchen has soffits, so that's another place where color can go. Thanks. I love rich deep colors! black cabinets with stainless pulls sounds awesome, but please offer more info on a second color....I'm open to anything, but blue.
what color to paint my kitchen? My cabinets are maple painted an ivory color, and my floor is medium golden oak. I have silver pulls/knobs on the cabinets and drawers. My countertop is also an ivory stone-looking laminate that includes very faint colors of gold and silver (which match the color of the floor and knobs). The room faces north. It adjoins my family room (which is painted an off white). THe room is 12 x 20 and does not have a lot of wall space. Any suggestions?
Where do I put the hardware on a lazy susan cabinet? I am planning to add knobs or handles to all my kitchen cabinets and I have two lazy susan cabinets. Do I put the pulls on the left, right, or on both sides? Thanks-
We have multi colored slate flooring and need help with wall and cabinet paint suggestions? Areas are hall, kitchen and dining area (open concept). Cherry/mahogany furniture in dining area/ kitchen has blackish granite countertops. Need wall colours and kitchen cabinet color ideas. Note area opens to living room (also needs to be painted) that has deep red/brown leather sofas, burgundy curtains and mahogany furniture. Current off white paint looks washed out against all this dark. Any suggestions to pull this together ?
How can I soundproof 1 wall? I know that sounds rediculous, but ONE wall of my baby girl's room is back to back with the kitchen. Whenever someone in the kitchen pulls open a drawer, opens and closes a cabinet, or grabs dishes in/out of the cabinet, the sound is SO loud and amplified in the babys room, that it wakes her up all the time. (Seriously, when someone opens a kitchen drawer, it sounds like someone is skateboarding across the wall!) So I can't use my kitchen when she is asleep. I'd really like to figure out how to soundproof that one wall, so that when someone is working in the kitchen, it doesn't carry through into her room. BTW, I'd like to see if there is anything I can put BETWEEN the walls (like drop down from up in the attic), as I obviosly can't tear out my kitchen cabinets to put material behind them.....and I don't want to mount material on my baby's wall, because the nursery is painted and decorated and finished. There is not an option of another room to move the baby to.
I want to change my kitchen cabinets, but should I paint or stain? I have light oak, builder's cabinets now. We have added stainless door pulls, but it doesn't stand out against the light color. I would like to stain or paint (or maybe a mix of both), but the boxes are laminate. Only the face and the doors are solid wood. I am considering a dark brown stain or white paint. But a friend told me that wood painted to white cabinets would bring down the value of my home. If I should stain, what can I do about the sides of the cabinets that are laminated?
how to determine the correct size drawer pulls or knobs ? I have kitchen cabinet doors and drawers and want to add the correct size knobs and drawer pulls. How does one determine the correct size of such items for the kitchen ? Not all doors and drawers are the same size, of course.
cool cabinet/drawer pulls so we are remodeling a little. our house is like ski lodge-esc, there is alot of wood in our house. and its kindof decorated western/outdoorsy, wild game (elk, ducks etc)... what coul we use as cool pulls for our kitchen cbinets?
Question for a kitchen cabinet maker or installer? Have SELF CLOSING hinges on my new kitchen cabinets and drawers with no way of opening them. I don't want pulls or catches - want the contemporary look with no hardware showing. I need some really long magnetic springs that when I push them in they will pop out enough for me to get my fingers behind the face of the cabinets. Is there something out there? (I don't want to use a router and Restoration Hardware doesn't have them.) I still need to be able to close the drawers so that the faces are flush with the cabinets or drawers. Bumper s will keep them permanenently open. Thanks.
loose kitchen hardware? I recently had new knobs and pulls installed on my kitchen cabinets. It appears that the holes drilled for 4 of the knobs were made too big, and the knobs are loose (you can jiggle them up and down). Any suggestions for how to best deal with this?
How do I repair the bottom of my kitchen cabinets which have warped and pulled away from its prior position? The cabinets were exposed to some standing water as a result of a water leak. I would like to make the repairs myself but I am unsure about how to get started.Could you provide me with the neccessary steps involved and how difficult it would be to repair?
How will my kitchen cabinets look like this? We can't afford new cabinets and we want to lighten our kitchen cabinets. They are stained a dark brown color. We plan to prime and paint whether we do just the doors or all of the cabinets. We considered leaving the cabinets the brown color they are now and painting the doors off-white/cream. We will use black knobs, drawer pulls and hinges. How do you think this will look? Please tell me the reason behind your answer and don't just say that you think it will look good or bad. Thanks! Thanks! So what if we painted the upper cabinets cream and do black hardware and leave the lower cabinets wood and do the same black hardware? That was my husband's first choice.
How do I pull out wood flooring in a kichen in kitchen without pulling out the cabinets? I know I can make a cut along the base of the cabinets. But I am not what type of saw to use. I thought a reciprocating saw might work but it would seem to me that it would be very hard to do with out damaging the cabinets. Any ideas?
New construction home completed this week, what should I look for? My wife and I have to sign off on our new home (built by Pulte) this week. Is there anything specific we should look for before we sign off? I have already noticed when I went in the house myself that some of the kitchen cabinet drawers arent pulling out smooth, is this something to have them fix or am I just being picky?
What is the rule about cabinet hardware on drawers vs. doors? I have a really nice custom built hardwood cabinets in my kitchen and want to add hardware to them. I am not sure what to use though. Is there as standard as far as what to use on the drawers and what to use on the cabinet doors? Do I use knobs on both? Do I use knobs on the doors and pulls (handles) on the drawers? or Do I use knobs on the drawers and handles on the doors? I am so confused.
Can I put ceramic tile directly on 5/8 inch plywood on my kitchen floor? My house is 16 years old and kitchen floor seems to be solid. If I try to pull plywood, I have to cut plywood around cabinets. If I put tile backboard on top of it, it will raise the floor at least 1/2 inch. So I plan to put ceramic tile directly on top of plywood. Has anyone done this before?
Does a lot of heat rise from the top of a convection oven? My husband wants a convection/toaster oven and my concern is the heat rising from it. The oven would sit on a counter top under the kitchen cabinets. I could pull it forward some during cooking and let more of the heat go to the ceiling. Also does air blow out of the convection oven anywhere that might blow papers off the counter top?

Displine for agency that neglects referrals to keep child safe. How should family deal with agency? Time line. Grandmother done numeral referral to social services about mother with alot of mental issues, nobody from agency came to child's home to investigate from child age 8 months old until 18 months old. The mother mental sickness could have been control by medication but the social services department she was going through had mother between two different agency and cut mother off from all assistance and she couldn't keep her self medicated and even after they step in they never made sure the mother got assistance she needed and her mental sickness got worst and the agency allow visits with her and her child and never made sure her mental illness was being treated and one day mother came to her mother house and cut her son throat. I am looking for replacement handles for kitchen metal cabinets. Where online should I find replacement parts? The cabinets were made in the 1950's (I think) by Geneva. The handle looks like it has a bin pull part and has a recessed backing. The handle is silver and the backing is white.
What can I do with an ugly Kitchen? I have recently moved into a house that I love for it's size and most of its features but my kitchen is SOOOO ugly. The bad part is that it is also old so ripping up the countertop and pulling out the cabinets would really do more harm than good. Can I paint metal cabinets? Can I paint tile? And what do you do with and countertop that can not be removed and there is NO working with the colors? Can you apply something over it? I need lots of help.
Fluted cabinets? Hey there I was wondering if you knew where to get kitchen cabinets *without* pulls that have a curdoroy effect (tight vertical ribbing or fluting). The recess at the bottom of each door would be the opening mechanism. Thx Oh yeah the recess would be hidden
cabinet refacer messed up my cabinets, what do I do? I've put a lot of time and effort into my kitchen, but I was spent and out of time, so I decided to get an experience cabinet refacer to do my cabinets. It was a pretty straight forward job, "oak cabinets in good condition need experienced cabinet refacer to install new alder veneer." I would supply the veneer, the 3M-90 glue and the money. I found a cabinet refacer on Craigslist. He sounded experienced and confident in his abilities. Well now I'm stuck with a crappy job and I'm out $200. I noticed, as he was laying the veneer on the fronts, that he wasn't taking the time to sand the old surface. He would spray the glue on the cabinets then on the veneer and wait about 3 minutes before applying. The underside of the cabinets is terrible. The veneer is starting to bubble and pull away from the cabinet. I'm at a loss here. Do I have to yank all this out and start over or is any of this repairable? any other tips would be great
What kind of kitchen cabinets should I get based onthis picture? I did everything backwards, got the floor, backsplash, appliances, sink, faucet put in with a new quartz countertop... then I thought I could reface the cabinets because they were solid wood, not particle board. Or paint the boxes and get new doors. What do you think would look good with these? I just moved in and had the floors replaced with dark maple and a dark tile, with the quartz countertop, so I can't remove that now (backwards, I know) http://www.home-see.com/kitchy.JPG http://www.home-see.com/kitchy2.JPG I'd also like to get those pull-out cabinets for my pantry instead of louvered doors. What color wood or what color paint perhaps with glazing would look good? It's a 70's split level that I'm trying to get to look more craftsman styling. Thank-you btw I don't have enough points to give you all thumbs up but thank-you, it really helps me to think it through!
accent color for my small kitchen? I have a small galley kitchen with one tall shadow box window. The ceilings are 13 feet high. I have terracotta and cream swirl tiles w/ bone white grout. The cabinets are Desert Floor, and the cabinet doors are bone white, and the walls are dessert floor too. The crazy thing is the counter top is a type of RED!! What color should I use to accent and pull everything together??? Thanks!!! Oh and I have stainless steel double sinks and stove range is also stainless steel.
How do I pull off a grape theme(green & purple) in my purple kitchen? My husband and I recently bought our first home. We plan on completely refacing the cabinets& redoing the floors, but for now we are starting small. My favorite color is purple, so I painted my kitchen purple. The colors are actually Plum Frost(walls) & Zinfandel (accent-top lip above cabinets only) by Behr. I want to decorate the room with green and purple grapes. I want the room to be warm & inviting. (If you need to see pictures of the kitchen go to HGTV.com's Rate My Space under MrsDAB.)
How to fix up open space from missing kitchen drawer front? I'm turning the smallish bottom cabinet space into a place for the trash bin, and would like to pull out the drawer for quick dumping of trash from above. I don't want to take out the interior hardware for the drawer just yet, but don't want to look at it through the empty drawer front, either. Practical would be nice, but ANY ideas appreciated since a lot of times they can spark new ones. Thank you!
How much does it cost to reface cabinets? I have a small kitchen with cabinets from the mid 80's they are a dark oak color and you can feel the grain in them, the were partial painted with killz. I have 13 doors 4 of them small, 6 drawers and 2 fake drawers with no handles and do not open. i also have 1 lazy susan on the corner that rotates open, doesn't side. I have heard there is a great range in pricing and it is easy to get ripped off and pay way too much. I also need to cut corners and save money, like buy my own pulls, hinges, and doors if I could even match up the color. I hear people can do it themselves, and apply the facing but this might be too hard. Is the a website that can explain this process as well?
How do you teach a cat something is ok some of the time but not all of the time? This is a multi-part issue. My tortie loves to get in high places and she has recently discovered how to jump on the counter, then up to the refrigerator, then to the top of my kitchen cabinets (her new napping place). I don't mind her doing this but I do mind her walking all over the counter. She also doesn't seem to understand how dangerous it is for her to go up to her napping place when the stove is on (small kitchen- the stove is next to the refrigerator, on a corner). Is there some way I can teach her the times to do this so she ends up not hurting herself? My kitten also does not realize the dangers of the stove- both cats hang around the kitchen most of the time, and when I'm baking the kitten will poke her head very close to the oven door, to try and investigate. Both of them have crawled into my refrigerator when the door was open, and I've been able to notice this and pull them out before the door was shut. How do you teach cats proper behavior in the kitchen? I have a spray bottle I'm currently using to discipline the kitten for various things. But in the case of the cat, where this is a "sometimes OK" situation, doesn't the spray bottle just tell her "no"? Won't that be a mixed message?
I spilled Brazilian wax on our laminate tile floors. How do I get it off? Also on the wood cabinets? It's wax from one of those Waxing kits. I put the stuff in the microwave and followed the directions. And when I pulled it out the container meled and spilled all over my kitchen counters, cabinets, floors oh and my legs. I emailed the company, but of course no answer..
Questions on installing a new kitchen floor? My kitchen and dining room are connected, however there is carpet in the dining room (I have no idea why the builders did that) and ceramic tile in the kitchen. I'd like to tear both of these out and put one uniform floor throughout. But, I've never done anything like this and have a million questions. Do I have to take out my kitchen cabinets and install the new floor under those as well? Will they be loose after I re-install them? And how do I handle the counter? Or do I just install the new floor and have it butt up against the cabinets? Is it true that I have to start the tile in the middle of the room? Or can I start in one corner and work my way through the room? I live in a duplex with no basement. What can I expect to see under my current tile and carpet when I pull them up? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
Need help with cabinet drawer bottoms coming loose.? The bottoms of the cabinet drawers in our kitchen keep coming loose - the part that connects to the backside of the drawer - so things like utinsels fall through the hole and get stuck or prevent the drawer below it from opening. I have already pulled they all out at least once to tap the nails back into place and even tried adding some staples with the staple gun to keep them in place. I do not overfill the drawers or put any unneeded pressure on the bottom to cause them to come loose - or at least I try not too. I now have three that have come loose again and it's bugging me. Is there maybe a certain type or size of nail I should try versus the staple gun? I looked and there doesn't seem to be a neat way to glue them down either. Thanks in advance!
