Kitchen design? I am still working on a design for a new kitchen. The salesperson who is putting the design together for me has the oven (raised) and refridgerator next to each other. She assured me that they could be close together but I am not sure. Help!!!! In the design I like the oven and fridge next to each other. People have been telling me though it is not good to have a hot oven next to the fridge for technical reasons. Supoosedly the oven will ruin the fridge.

anyone know of a good virtual kitchen design program that will allow painted cabinets? i'm redesigning my kitchen, and want to use a virtual designer to view samples prior to purchase and install. i purchased a program called plan 3-d, however, it dones't allow painted cabinets -- only stained. my cabinets are painted, and it's imperitive to my granite choice. any help appreciated.

How do I design a kitchen window with rectangular lites in a 36 inch vertical opening? I'm remodeling my kitchen and I know I want three windows, two feet each set together in a 6 - 7 foot horizontal opening by 36 inch vertical opening. I'm trying to mimick the style of my french doors so I don't want squares. However, the window that was delivered looked like the incredible hulk of windows with too much wood framing and hardly any glass and they were all square. Hate it!

Is there a way to remove a decal design on ceramic tile backsplash in kitchen? My kitchen has a glossy white ceramic backsplash. Random tiles have a fruit motif scattered around the backsplash-design appears to be some sort of decal that was applied on top of the tile. I would like to update the kitchen and get rid of these fruit motifs. I have tried Goof-Off, soap, Comet and they do not budge. Does anyone have any other ideas without damaging the tiles--I would like to just have the plain white tiles as I do not want to tear out the tile. Thanks for your suggestions!

Kitchen design help!? My fiance and I are picking out our upgrades on our condo...the wood floor that we choose have to go throughout the kitchen, living room and dining room. The design of the building is contemporary. We are having a hard time agreeing on the color of the wood floor and the color of the kitchen cabinets. We are leaning towards dark cabinets (dolce) and light to cherry color floors. This will be a rental unit with good lighting. can somebody help on a a structural design on a community centre kitchen? i have an plot of land that needs a structural design to build a kitchen. it is roughly 70 foot long and one side is 40foot long and the other is 30 foot. it is in the shape of a trapesium. the land sits next to a railway track. i wanted to put a concrete slab rather than piling then use RSJ to build on top. this is so we can have a light building built. The plot of land is part of a community centre which requires a kitchen to be built on a very tight budget. Can sombody help please?

Design question kitchen at one end living room at other end all one room? My kitchen is red very red I'm lost on the living room color. Sence these rooms run together I'm thinking of something in the orange hue not bright but muted color. Kitchen design-help? I am remodeling my kitchen. What happens is that the kitchen and dining room are an only lineal piece and I don't have any the original floor tiles. I need to change the kitchen tile but I would like an idea on how to make it look good, like separate from the other room. I was thinking in borders or diamond. I'm not sure on what to do or the colors. The other tiles are terracota and the kitchen cabinets are mahogany. If I could see a picture maybe on the web of one idea!!
Bedroom / Kitchen design software? My brother in law has just started his own business, he fits custom kitchens and bedroom cupboards etc. He would like to design them first on the computer to give the customer a view of how it will look like when finished. We have tried other home design softwares, but they are too complicated and take to long. I am looking for a simple software where we can just set the sizes of the cupboards and the positions and get a 3D view of it. Also i would like to be able to upload specific cupboard designs on to it e.g. colour, patterns, wood grains etc. So if you know of any good software for this please let me know. New Kitchen - Design query. wood units on wood floor? dilema.? We are currently choosing a kitchen to be installed in our 80's semi. Our initial idea was to have an oak laminate floor put on the entire ground floor (lounge/hall/kitchen/dining area) to create unity between all the rooms and keep dusty down etc. Glass doors to nable light to travel through (dark house). Now we are attempting to choose a kiting suite and ae stuck ! Would wooden faced doors look odd aginst a wooden floor? concernerned it way look to woody - like a sauna? Merge / clash? Should we go for painted wood type or plain doors to complement /contrast with the flooring? Or shoudl we not laminate the entire downstairs and have traditional black / cream tiles on kitchen floor to enable wood units to be fitted? Thus breaking up the "untiy / flow" of having the whole floor the same? We are trying to consider resale potential of the house (in the future) and trying to make it as light and large feeling as possible along with us having to like it obviously. Many Thanks

How much would you pay for a set of Kitchen Design Drawings ? I am a kitchen designer, and an interior decorator that is looking to do some work on the side. I have alot of people that ask me , if they can buy my drawings and not get a kitchen through me, but i don't even know where to start for how much to charge them for a set of drawings. i was wondering if i could get someones imput. Added Details - i know you can go to Home depot and get your kitchen designed there. i worked at the Home depot for two years doing that. But in all honesty anyone with real talent never stays at the depot. I mean really creative drawings. Also No one really good will give out the measurements. even when i worked at the depot. i would never give people my plans, i would give them a pretty picture that is it. never the correct measurements.

I can afford it, and I know that in the stuff packs only clothes, hairstyles, and items are added. I have lots of expansions but only one other stuff pack; Teen Style Stuff, which I love! I enjoy designing my houses (although I'm not good at it) but I hardly have space on my computer. Can somebody who has Kitchen & Bath Stuff tell me some about it? Should I get it?

I'm just wondering if the serial code will be in the readme file attached or in one of the other files, flt-tskb.bin or flt-tskb.cue. Also, I don't have a clue on how to install once finished. Design kitchen color scheme around white stove and fridge? A white fridge and stove are coming today. We are just re-coloring the kitchen (walls, cabinets, flooring) temporarily and inexpensively until we re-vamp to re-sell years later. I'd love to do a modern mocha muave slate color scheme, but I think the white will be too stark a contrast. The countertop stays for now- a marbly laminate that ranges from a beige to mocha, with mauve undertones. How do I tie in that mix with white? To what extent can we use modern neutrals? Thank you!
kitchen and bath design help? My husband and I purchased our home last summer. I love the home and location but hate the kitchen and bath. Our home was built in 1957 and I have hardwood floors throughout the house. When we get more settled financially, we plan to remodel both. We have narrowed it down to the following designs. We are not sure which color the kitchen will be painted but the bath will be paint either a sage green or a creamy yellow color. Choose which kitchen & bath you like best. Can anyone help with kitchen theme design? I have a lot of Coca-Cola kitchen ware and have always wanted to have a 1950's style kitchen. I am moving into a house where I can make this work. The cabinets are a dark wood that I am considering painting, things are edged in chrome, and the back wall of the kitchen is a shiny material that is about the color of lime sherbet. This wall is visible from the living room and I'm not sure that painting this wall is even an option since it is slick and shiny. I'd like to keep the color, but how can I tie it in with red, black and white dishes?
Remodelling a small kitchen...Is Ikea a good place to go for design, product and installation? They seem to know so much about getting the maximum out of a very small area (we are in a very small condo, renovated, used to be the top floor of a home with 4 bedrooms and a bathroom. Now it has an office, kitchen and an living/dining room combo that used to be 2 bedrooms. The third floor attic is now the bedroom. Comments on Ikea for everything may help.
