What is an average cost of designing & fitting kitchen in Scotland?

I'm thinking of getting a new kitchen fitted, but I want to have it done my specific way (inc moving about plumbing, pipes & electrics, also knocking down partition wall & moving about gas pipes & meter). Any ideas how much it could cost? Obviously I'm looking to get it done fairly cheap but good quality. Location: Edinburgh.

  1. Moving your meter alone could take 6 months and cost 500- 1,000 pounds. No idea on the plumbing/gas but 50 quid installing per unit/ worktop/ cut-out for sink/hob. / cornice/ pelmet. another 50 quid for each electrical point Then add on the cost of all units and appliances.
  2. 1st try the free on-line program on the ikea web site to design your kitchen. not hard, this is the easy bit. save your cash for the trades, sounds expensive. we move gas meters, the other person who said £1000. is very over the top price. why not get the Gas meter fitted outside in a gas meter box? total job between £3,500 - £6,000 + materials. you did not say how big the kitchen is.
  3. Hello, We got our kitchen from Kitchens Direct. We chose the worktops etc & they fitted everything for us. We got a dishwasher (we already had a washing machine), an electric oven & gas hob. It cost us £3000 in all. We don't have that big a kitchen though, so I guess that would have to be taken into account. What part of Edinburgh are you from? I am in Drumbrae. I don't know of any places with the gas meter in the kitchen here in Edinburgh.
