Is IKEA furniture expensive or affordable to most people?
IKEA is said to be an international home products retailer that sells low-price products, including furniture, accessories, bathrooms and kitchens at retail stores around the world. However, for some people the price is quite expensive. What do you think?

- I believe IKEA has a lot of items that are cheap, but that doesn't make them affordable. They advertise that they are inexpensive because they use a cookie cutter process to make their items, but to me, a $1000 bedroom set is indeed expensive, especially if you'll have to buy another one in a couple years due to its poor quality. Yes, they have $5.00 lamps and $10.00 tables, but what good does it do your pocketbook to buy these items if they'll just break and need replacing?
- Ikea is not expensive but not very cheap. Its good but the range , quality, qaunty you get in Ikea is marvelous. You don't call it expensive, please.
- Ikea has different products by different designers. Some of the designers are cheap and some are expensive. As for quality, If you are only paying a few dollars for something, you would be stupid if you think its going to last forever. That's unrealistic, but value for money at ikea, i think is awesome. I also think, their more expensive items are great quality. I brought, some cheap cutlery from ikea, and it is great.
- Depends on your budget. I would not buy big IKEA items that need to last a long time. They have great things for small rooms and small apartments and also great accessories. All of these are at great prices. IKEA is cool and trendy if that is what you are looking for. They also have great sales. Furniture is very over prized everywhere, so shop around.
- I have been a student for most of my adult life and so on a pretty tight budget, but I love the products and have found it pretty easy to buy their products.
- IKEA is relatively inexpensive. The catch is that most of the big items have to be built and guess who gets to build them? You. For some people the time spent building some of these famous kitchens is not worth the thousand dollars saved by not going to say, home depot and having one of them install it. With IKEA the saying, "you get what you pay for" applies more than you know. Yes, there are a lot of inexpensive items for sale there but the question is, how long do you think it will last? People who go into IKEA with high expectations, quality wise, for the bottom dollar are going to be disappointed. I think the answer you are looking for is that most of the items are relativly inexpensive. But if you dont enter the store with a list of the items that you need, you may end up buying way more product than you can afford. IKEA is set up in such a way that you have to walk through the entire store. There is one and only one pathway you can walk as apposed to say... Fred Meyers or home depot where you have aisles. It is a great marketing technique, you have to look at everything just to get through the store. Just think about it. You go to a store you are familiar with like home depot and you are looking for a couple of items. You are able to go to those specific areas of the store and find what you need and leave without even seeing three quarters of the rest of the store. With IKEA it is worlds easier to impulse buy when you are made to see nearly the entire store.
