can gold tone kitchen cabinet hardware be painted a silver color? If so what type of paint?
Kitchen cabinets came with gold hardware, i would like to spray paint them silver or a pewter color if possible

- Clean them thoroughly in soapy water.. Wipe them off real good with some acitone. Prime them with a good quality spray primer. Spray them with your choice of color.
- I would use spray paint instead of brush-on. I've tried both ways and the spray paint had a nicer, smoother finish. A dull/matte spray paint looks better than gloss for hardware as well. Choose a durable, colorfast spray paint that resists household cleaners, and can withstand normal wear (grease/grime). It should also list 'metal' as a recommended surface.
