Best way to clean 12 year old dirty, greasy builder grade kitchen cabinets?

I have to clean 12 year old, builder grade kitchen cabinets that are dirty and greasy. The cabinets are in good condition other than that. The hardware is fine. They just need a through cleaning! What cleaning products should I use? I am not trying to go overboard with painting or refinishing.

  1. Fantastik is a good cleaning solution. Go to your nearby Home Depot or Lowes and look in the cleaning section. There might actually be some sort of de-greaser for wood.
  2. I would try something like MR CLEAN. Spray it on and let it soak in. Then use a plain water rinse. If one dose doesn't do it try another application. We use a degreaser at work called JB7000 to clean machines. It removes all of the oil and grease . This maw be too harsh for wood.
  3. There is a concentrated orange cleaner at Home Depot that comes in a gallon container. Just mix it with water and put in a spray bottle. I use it for everything and it smells great!
