Final finish on kitchen cabinets?

I am redoing my kitchen cabinets... So far... I took all of them down, removed all hardware. Sanded and primed. 2 Coats of Semi-gloss paint Glazed - Antique look My question - is there a sealer/lacquer/poly that I need to apply to them? Does this by any chance come in a spray/aeresol form? Any help is appreciated

  1. Sealer is used before painting or staining. You don't have to use anything on top of the paint but it will protect the paint if you do, and can improve the appearance. You can use wax, polyurethane, lacquer, shellac, varnish or any number of other products depending on what you want your cabinets to look like. Most if not all of them are available in spray/aerosol form. Lowes or Home Depot will have these products plus advice on which one is best for your budget and desires. One word of warning. Do not use marine varnish, sometimes called spall varnish. It's a great product for outdoor use but when dry is still tacky. Not something you want on your kitchen cabinets.
