  1. First of all, I wouldn't sand them down. Particle board texture can look cool when painted correctly. Kilz Primer is probably a good idea. You can do so many things with cupboards. If you can get to a Walmart you can buy a kit for around $7 that will give you some texturing options. I just did my cupboards (which are the same as yours) with a kit that produced a rust texture. It is so pretty and gives them some character. I would suggest some kind of texture however. The kit I used was two easy steps and very, very easy. :) I hope this helps!!! In the paint section. Usually the best stuff is in the clearance aisle! :) You may not find the rust one, but there should be something there that you could use. Good Luck! Remember, don't follow a standard when it comes to decorating. Do something different. You know what you like :) Shoots, okay. Sorry for the misinformation! Next step. I have done this as well. Did you happen to buy any Kilz? and what color?
  2. Kilz is shellac based. Sand them, prime and paint. Or buy new cabinets. That's the route I'd go. Nothing worse than a crappy kitchen.
