Any ideas for 50s style accessories for my kitchen?
My kitchen has kind of evolved in to a diner style (i.e. run out of money) any suggestions out there. thanks

- how about a mangle...my nan had one in the 50s...or balck and white tiles....
- Check out Ebay, you can get all sorts of collectables on there and at good prices too.
- Check the charity shops, a wonderful cornucopia of all things kitch!
- Try www.retroplanet.com. I think you'll find just what you are looking for. Good luck!
- One of those old "lazy susans" that sat on the kitchen table with the salt, pepper, napkins etc. on - people didnt have a lot of cupboards then and condiments were kept on kitchen table. Also, one of those old breadboxes looks neat - non-electric can opener on wall - toaster cover - big vase or jar on counter with all your tools in, such as egg-flipper etc..... I think a fifties kitchen looks so friendly..... not like these ugly all steel kitchens that are spotless and no ambiance!
- Sure, an open top washing machine with a mangle and scrubbing board. with matching spin dryer.

- Hit your local thrift stores, consignment stores, garage sales etc... Even antique stores- they will more than likely have SOMETHING from a 50's style kitchen you can use!!!Or post a "wanted" on this web site and see if anyone has something to give away-www.freecycle.com
