Kitchen accessory colors that go with gray?

My kitchen is almost done - cabinets are light/medium oak color, countertops and sink are medium gray marble-ish, flooring contains shades of lighter gray marble-ish, walls and ceiling are painted white, appliances are white. I'm going to make curtains and purchase/create accessories. What color choices should I go with for the curtains and accessories? Don't know whether I should just do more subtle shades of gray, or use some wild color to make things "pop" ?

  1. I would paint the walls a shade of red (not bright) if you really want to add some character to your kitchen, not only will it liven it up, it will also make the Gray come in to view by creating a contrast. Once you change your wall color your window treatments should be easy to choose depending on the style you want to emphasize. Everything will "pop" but not be overwhelming. Good luck!
  2. IMHO, I think you should have some really brightly colored accessories, like vibrant violet, electric lime, Coca-cola red, Pacific blue or tangerine. Against the gray & white, the bright colors will give your kitchen energy.
  3. paint one wall paparatzi pink. its bostin
  4. I think you'll find if you go with gray accents that your kitchen will have a cold, sterile feel. Some color will help warm up the look and make it feel more comfortable and welcoming. Red or a different strong color would certainly liven it up, but if you would like it more serene, you might try a buttery yellow, a soft Tuscan orange, or a sage green. How about finding some things in your house of colors you'd like to try out? They don't have to be kitchen items yet. Find some clothing you can try... perhaps a solid red shirt or a sage shirt to throw over the curtain rod to see what you think. Leave it up for a day so you can see it in morning, afternoon, and evening light, because your opinion may change in different light. You can also find vases, books, anything of the right color and just set it on the counter to get a feel for what color you would like. Are your dishes a solid color? What about that color for accents? If it were me, i'd go with one of the softer colors and i'd paint the walls a pale shade of it also.
