I need help with my kitchen decor! Ideas please!?

My kitchen needs help =( I had an apple theme thats not going to well lol. Any have any ideas for me? I have white cabinets with silver knobs, off white cream walls with white molding. The floor its light light tan with different tan colors? The floor is hard to describe. I am thinking about getting a breakfast nook from walmart so my dining table is replaceable. Give me ideas! Wall cannot be painted I live in military housing so everything stays as is except the decor. Oh where my table is I have a huge apples in bowl painting over it now. I get compliments all the time on my kitchen as it is easy to change the colors. I decorated with roosters! There isn't a color I have found that i can't make work. You can find so much stuff, everywhere, with a rooster theme. I change up to new rugs, placemats, etc once or twice a year, but it works. It's a little country but you can add nice pieces to keep it looking contemporary.
Your kitchen is actually very neutral, and only a couple of changes could transform it. You have a large wall by the table that could take a large piece of art or a few items that are related, then there is that space in your cabinets that could have a similarly themed item. All the colors are so neutral you could do anthing. I don't like that chair that looks like it might be a folding chair? The farm style chairs look OK. Also, I think for this room you need a rectangular table, not the round one. Before you get a breakfast nook use some painters tape to lay out where it will go and how it will affect the space. For me, a larger, rectangular table would be more practical. I always feel uncomfortable in the nooks because I can't adjust the seats the way I like. If you want to keep your apple theme, I'd add a piece of apple art to the space in the cabinets, get some cannisters whose shape or color tie them into that theme then some dishtowels and other misc kitchen items that tie into all that. Themed kitchens are built over time...if you keep at it your friends and family will start giving you things with apples...my brother is a very serious fisherman...my sister in law recently took my mother and I aside and said "Please...no more fish stuff..."
u need some color in there & by color... how about a table cloth or colored seat covers for u'r chairs or some decor on u'r walls or w/ the apple color or leaf color.... ( i assume UR leaning more towards red color than green (leaves))... can u put anything over UR sliding window... like a few colored/printed place mats w/ that apple design... hanging them like a Triangle... u can even do that over a solid color table cloth or layering UR place mats on UR table. Can u change UR handles on the cabinets. then chg. them back when u leave. Depending if they r knobs or handles... knobs... try the craft store for anything that would resemble apples to paint or already done & drill a hole in the back side then glue in a screw then into the old knob on cabinet. They also have applique's that u can put on walls/cabinets & remove when u get tired of them.. Check Ur local craft store or online. U could even take material & use one wall or make like a border & use corn starch to place it on the wall... then when u leave, it will come done easily & u just wash the walls. It needs a dark colour to ground it. I would suggest a black table and chair set, and a mirror over the sink area as you have no window there. If you put on the black hardware on your cupboards, it will draw both sides of the room together. The cupboards need a more substantial hardware on them. You can put up a collage of pictures in black frames on the wall (apples if you want). The frames do not have to be the same size or style, just all black..you can use pictures of different apples you take yourself and print out on your printer if you like. Use white matting in your frames and arrange on that blank wall. I would add some sort of black iron ceiling light to tie it all together.
do an ocean theme. Shades of blue, seashell and sand art. Very tranquil like a vacation every time you're in you kitchen!!
try to make to with whatever you have if this is the case.. you can get a table from walmart but whats the guarantee that it will look good enough.. get some nice curtains for kitchen or some nice hanging stuff where you can put on spoons and plates and other crockery and cutlury items... it will add some newness and some novelty to the kitchen.. if wall cannot be painted.. you can add some wall paper to it that can be removed easily..

I think you need to choose a bright color and accent with it as much as possible. Curtains, canister set, rug,... I would start by finding a big piece of art that fits between the cabinets where your clock is. Or you could use a big wall decal there too. Once you decide on that, then pick a color from it to accessorize with.
