Does the color of the kitchen faucet need to match the cabinet hardware?

4. I would not mix gold or bronze with silver but no, it does not have to match. I have chrome faucets and nickel hardware on my cabinets. You can use chrome and black, chrome and white, bronze and brown, etc.
5. No. People would go crazy trying to do that. Most faucets are chrome. My kitchen cabinet handles are dark green, and I have never seen a dark green faucet.
6. Yes I would make sure they matched. They are like shoes and a belt when you are getting dressed. Mismatching them looks funny.
