Kitchen floor fitted wrongly?
We have just had our kitchen floor relaid using vinyl tiles interspersed with design strips. It seemed like a nice idea at the time. The design strips are meant to mimic grouting. Should they be laid flush with the tile surface? Ours almost all protrude above the tile. Have they been fitted incorrectly?

- I would imagine so, what did the guys says ?
- No, the grout would be slightly lower than the tiles so your "design strips" are too high.
- I have a work colleague who experienced this exact problem 2 weeks ago. The tiles and the design strips should definitely be flush (for ease of sweeping etc). Apparently these vinyl tiles come in 2 thicknesses and the factory has mixed up a batch of these tiles with the wrong thickness of strips! I know that my colleague is refusing to pay for the floor until the problem is rectified- maybe the firm can be compensated by the manufacturer?
